Teeth-chattering... YES, I'm cold!

Many might consider me the black-sheep of my family in many ways. Let me just focus on one of those ways, leaving the others for another time.

Born in New Mexico, raised in SoCal, you'd think that I prefer the US south-western, hot, arid-land - never so true! Even before my three years in Alaska, I've always preferred the colder climates. I love snow... I love winter... I love winter sports/recreation... but (!) that doesn't mean I don't get cold and miserable.

Apparently, this is an unusual winter (temperature-wise). It's been anything from mild to chilly. Last week, it was pretty warm hitting the low 70s in the afternoon and high 50s at night. This week, holy-moley! I left my apartment this morning, discovering an iced-over, truck windshield at a balmy 31degrees! Right now (8pm) it's about 30degrees, and I can expect to wake-up to a freezing 24!

You know... back in the day (in AK), 24degrees was a hot winter day - one where all the Alaskans would drop their jackets and sport a t-shirt and a pair flip-flops!!! I used to do the same... you know why... 'cause it wasn't a chilly 20degrees-below-zero!
(with that in mind... man I've become a wimp!)
